I am a Royal Navy Veteran. Joining up at 18, I gained valuable life experience and learned to work together with those around me. I learned that to lead you must listen to the people around you. The Royal Navy taught me “Your actions reflect upon our reputation and traditions, guard them well”, something I live by to this day.
I was lucky enough to travel the world and experience many different cultures. I have lived and worked in Germany and France since leaving the Navy. Upon returning to the North East in 2013, I chose to make Washington my home and where I now run my own Catering, Events & Consultancy Business providing support for businesses across the North East. In my day to day role I help businesses overcome any issues they may have and I also provide support for local charities offering free event catering for fundraisers as well as fundraising for the RNRMC.
I live in Washington with my wife and my 4 children. There has been a tremendous local spirit in the area. During the recent pandemic I witnessed first hand the willingness of the people around the area to help each other out as well as the fantastic support my wife (an A&E nurse) received from our neighbours. This area has made me feel welcome and I would like to repay the people of Washington by representing them and providing the support my community needs as and when called upon.
I am very passionate about politics at a local and national level, and believe actions speak louder than words.
