Sunderland Conservatives achieve major VICTORY to uncover the truth about the National Glass Centre Closure
In a dramatic twist in City Hall we managed to pass nearly all of our motion to try to save the National Glass Centre - after Labour tried to block it. Sunderland Labour initially tried to amend our motion into oblivion, deleting nearly the entire motion, however the Mayor of Sunderland found the amendment unconstitutional and rejected it. Every single Labour councillor then retreated out of the chamber to discuss their next steps which led them to accepting our motion anyways with a minor amendment.
What was the point of trying to reject it then? Many Sunderland Labour councillors then tried to claim that they tried to save the National Glass Centre but never forget that they first tried to block our attempts to uncover all the details of the closure. They bent to the will of the University of Sunderland - not to the people of Sunderland who want the Glass Centre to remain open.
