St. Peter’s Conservatives secure answers on Roker Pier reopening:

Cllr Sam Johnston is pleased that Sunderland City Council has finally given residents a date for when Roker Pier will reopen to the public.

The Pier, closed since Storm Arwen, is set to reopen at the end of March when repair works to damaged railings have been completed.

Sam commented:

“The closure of the Pier has been a source of disappointment for residents, anglers, tourists and businesses alike.

“I’m glad that the Council has given us a proper answer now as to what repairs are needed and when they’ll be completed.

“I’m looking forward, as many other people in the area will be, to enjoying the Pier once again in the spring.”
